Overview

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Sr. System Administrator Lead is responsible for providing system backup, recovery, version upgrades, system and software installation, coordinating with external agencies and vendors, analyzing Information Assurance vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), patching applicable IAVAs and conducting necessary testing, and supporting system scan, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) efforts.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

 

In general, the Sr. System Administrator Lead is responsible for overseeing and providing system sustainment by keeping the system operational, as well as providing system backup, recovery, version upgrades, system and software installation, coordinating with external agencies and vendors, analyzing Information Assurance vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), patching applicable IAVAs and conducting necessary testing, and supporting system scan, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) efforts.
Specific tasking includes, but is not limited to:
• Providing database administration and support, including maintaining the integrity of the data and the efficiency and performance of the system.
• Analyzing, testing, updating, and installing third party software programs on the government systems.
• Conducting data migration between servers.
• Performing system and data migration planning / implementation are essential to managing current and future cloud architectural requirements.
• Conducting data extractions and providing the results to the Government.
• Conducting data conversion programs
• Performing data conversions that may be necessitated by a new version of the database software, new Department of Defense Activity Address Codes (DoDAACs), or other changes.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

 

• BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience with Windows Server (2008 R2- 2012 R2) administration.
• Four (4) additional years of applicable experience with appropriate certifications may be substituted for the degree.
• Must have knowledge of TCP/IP, information security/authorization profiles, or system administration of Unix or Windows networks/systems.
• Must be capable of managing the servers, which typically involves installing and upgrading the servers, as well as solving any kind of problems with the systems.
• Must provide the essential support for Hitachi SAN Management with data replication; including the configuration of the hardware devices, testing new software and designing the structure of the network.
• Must be capable of monitoring the system configuration, including the server event log.
• Must be capable of testing the operating system software, the networking software and also the computer hardware.
• Must be capable of monitoring and developing the procedures for backups of the servers.

  • Must have a Secret Clearance.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

 

• Advanced degree is desirable in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline.

 

SPECIAL SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS: 

 

• Minimum of DoD 8570 - Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level Two (2) certification with five (5) years of relevant IA experience.
