Systems support provides technological service and assistance within the Integrated Combat Systems Department (V). The V- Department user community consists of Government employees along with supporting Contractors. The systems support is needed and will be supported by the Systems Administrators. The current support is distributed between numerous buildings to support DoD and commercial cloud services for: 10-50 computer networks; 2000-3000 servers, workstations, and thin clients for 3000-5000 local and offsite users and 25-45 Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages.
Five (5) years of Systems Administration experience in a real-world setting at a complex site (i.e., more than 100 computers running multiple operating systems) demonstrating experience in leading a computer technology effort including planning, scheduling, forecasting, and evaluating associated endeavors. Demonstrate the ability to work independently or as part of a team with no supervision from senior leadership. Demonstrate the ability to streamline IT management and team efficiency through the use of automation and orchestration tools (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, SCCM). Demonstrate an advanced understanding of operating system concepts, system interconnectivity, virtualization, hardware and software management, active directory and group policy, file systems, client/server interoperability, performance analysis, system vulnerability assessment, remediation and prevention. Demonstrate the ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Shell, Perl, etc.). Demonstrate experience giving technical and informational presentations, writing advanced documentation, and white papers. Demonstrate independent problem-solving skills and be self-motivated and provide self-direction.
