    Logistics Specialist

    NAS Patuxent River MD

    The Logistics Specialist will serve as on-site support at NAS Pax River to the NAVAIR Fleet System Array (NFSA) IPT Lead and the ES&I PMO team.  The candidate will carry out the tasks and functions of the position as directed by the NFSA IPT Lead and will engage with the ES&I Team on a regular basis.

    Responsibilities

    Provide support to the NFSA PMO for Aviation/Ship Integration and Navy Modernization Process (NMP). Assist with the integration of NAVAIR provided systems installed on Aircraft Carriers, Amphibious Ships, and Air Capable Ships by developing modernization products in accordance with NMP requirements and milestones. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    1. Initiating and managing Ship Change Documents (SCDs) in the Navy Data Environment (NDE) Entitled Process (EP).
    2. Scheduling SCD installs and developing Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) certification forms in NDE.
    3. Tracking ship change maturity and NMP milestone conformance to facilitate timely authorization of ship installations.
    4. Coordination and communication with counterparts representing Ship Program Managers, NAVSEA / NAVAIR technical authority, Type Commander, Regional Maintenance and Modernization Coordinating Office (RMMCO), and Alteration Installation Teams.
    5. Review modernization availability key events and milestones, identify potential modernization issues/risks, and collaborate with program/product teams for plans of action to achieve system/ship installation.
    6. Maintain status and all documentation for shipboard implementation of all ship alterations and field changes for the Regional Maintenance and Modernization Coordination Office (RMMCO) process. Prepare ISEA work files for entry into the Configuration Data Manager’s Data-Open Architecture (CDMD-OA) Database for field change/ship alteration installation and configuration installation and configuration validation. Prepare/submit Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Certifications for field change/ship alteration installations.
    7. Development, review and submission ILS Certification forms via NDE for Ships Program Manager (SPM) approval.
    8. Development, review and submission of maintenance and/or Configuration Overhaul Plan (COP) work files via CDMD-OA
    9. Development assistance and input review to Ship Change Documents (SCDs)

    Qualifications

    Candidate must be able to adjust and adapt in a fast-paced environment. The ability to multi-task and sharp attention to detail are essential. Candidate must be capable of supporting and appropriately representing the PMO as needed in stakeholder meetings that may include Flag Officers, SES and other high level government officials from various DoD agencies.    

    Must hold and be able to maintain an active secret clearance or above.
