The System Engineer will serve as on-site support at NAS Pax River to the SE IPT Lead in Huntsville, AL. The Deputy will carry out the tasks and functions of the position as directed by the SE IPT Lead and will engage with the ES&I Team on a regular basis in an effort to keep the SE IPT Lead aware of ongoing tasks and to raise awareness of anticipated issues.
The selected candidate will research emerging technologies and provide process improvement suggestions to benefit the government on such issues as help desk tickets, content management, document administration, etc. Provide input on how to make the JTDI system easier to manage by suggesting new capabilities on the portal. Participate in code reviews for all software products to note quality issues as well as information assurance problems. Engage contractors in detailed development discussions and provide feedback and participate in design reviews for all software products. Candidate will review deliverables and provide input as requested for SE documents (SEP, TEMP, OCMP, HP Fortify instructions to Contractors, Requirements Management, etc.), and suggest and maintain metrics for tracking efficiency in SE processes (as needed).
Candidate should possess knowledge of agile software development processes. Candidate will review and provide feedback on weekly reports from SE contractors, manage SE risk reviews, attend all SE meetings with contractors and support the SE-IPT lead in all activities. Additionally, candidate will facilitate communication among contractors, CSS and PMO/government and across all IPT’s as needed. Candidate must be capable of representing the JTDI SE as needed in stakeholder meetings and use critical thinking/planning to provide suggestions for improvement on all SE processes. Candidate must also become exceedingly familiar with the JTDI GOTS products (JDMS, CMDS, PREP, and JKCS) networking/architectural requirements and provide suggestions.
Security+ or OS certifications strongly desired
Minimum 5 - 8 years’ experience in software projects and Government off-the-shelf (GOTS) products.
Must hold and be able to maintain and active DoD secret clearance
