Tactical Systems Engineer
Responsible for performing Tactical and simulation activities at the Operations Control Center (OCC), in the Integrated Warfare Systems Lab (IWSL) Dahlgren, VA, as assigned by the Lead Tactical Systems Engineer for that respective shift. These duties include performing unique tasks as assigned, providing support the facility users, both corrective and preventive maintenance as well as documentation of work performed (log keeping).
Performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance on Naval Tactical systems.
Operation of switching systems to set stored configurations and individual user configurations
Load user media
Load tactical and simulations systems and perform simulation and tactical operations
Provide console operations in support of special projects
Develop, modify and deliver combat system simulation test scenarios
Perform data recording and data analysis on all laboratory equipment
Responsible for making tactical logbook entries that are concise, accurate and provide sufficient detail.
Responsible for using proper Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Responsible for generating/updating/closing work candidates and configuration changes ensuring the information is detailed and accurate.
Responsible for installing/testing all IWSL local changes.
Responsible for utilizing all applicable security procedures while performing in the IWSL
The Tactical Systems Engineer shall have 8 years general tactical experience which includes 2 years of Aegis specific experience.
Aegis Operations Specialist or Tactical Data Link experience a plus
Must have or be able to obtain a Department of Defense secret security clearance
Must be able to support shift work
