Information Technology Specialist
Location: NAS Patuxent River MD
The candidate will serve as on-site support at NAS Pax River for the Distributed Applications IPT Lead and will carry out the tasks and functions of the position as directed by the IPT Lead and will engage with the ES&I Team on a regular basis in an effort to remain aware of ongoing tasks, raise awareness of anticipated issues and provide solutions to address potential risks.
The selected candidate's tasks will require attention to detail and experience reviewing information technology-related data ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with standards. Candidate will work with customers to asses their needs and resolve issues and must have knowledge of available products and services. Candidate must be able to brief mid-level management and IT staff on status of daily operations and should have exemplary problem solving skills, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations to leadership.
The successful candidate will utilize analytical skills and abilities to troubleshoot data accessibility and availability problems and initiate corrective actions. Operates information and database to track progress, develop reports, statistical data, and provides assistance to other Program Analysts and Technical Writer’s in compilation, manipulation, and analysis of data as required. Provide program guidance, interpretation, and implementation oversight of applicable information security policies, processes and practices to ensure continued operational availability and integrity of enterprise applications, systems, networks and data. Review usage logs and determine the need for changes in access methods, storage media, or other elements based on usage and performance trends. Monitor and evaluate the contractor's performance for compliance with contract requirements. Research methodologies to analyze and evaluate assigned programs areas for effectiveness and efficiency. Providing advice, recommendations, and training on document control issues and fulfilling customer requests to obtain appropriate technical documentation. Support the assessment and defining customer functional requirements, and evaluating alternative approaches. Analyze and define customer data requirements and specifications. Assist in performing aggregation and analysis of data sources to establish risk modeling profiles and trend analyses useful to inform risk-based decision making.
Security+ or OS certifications desired
Associates degree and minimum 3 years’ experience in software projects and Government off-the-shelf (GOTS) products.
BS/BA in IT related field, software development and/or networking and 2 years' experience.
Must have an active Secret Clearance.
